Tottenham coach José Mourinho said qualifying for the Europa League is the minimum his club deserves after a series of problems during the Premier League season. In a press conference before the London club’s duel against Leicester, Mourinho also said that Tottenham’s football is superior to the level played by the clubs present in the continental tournament.
“The least we deserve is to end up in a position that keeps us in European football, a competition that is not at our level. We are better than that,” started the Portuguese. “But football is not about what you deserve, and we need to win these next two games,” he added.
In addition to Leicester, Tottenham still have to play for the national tournament a match against Crystal Palace. The London team is in seventh place, with 55 points, and is no longer able to reach Manchester United, fifth place and first place holder in the Europa League.
