Mauricio Pochettino will tell the players ‘make it happen’ as we prepare for two matches that could define our season.

First up, our final away match of the Premier League campaign at Bournemouth on Saturday (12.30pm) knowing that victory will secure a place in the top four and a place in the Champions League next season.

Hot on the heels of the trip to the Vitality Stadium, one of the biggest nights in our history as we travel to Amsterdam to face Ajax in the second leg of our Champions League semi-final on Wednesday (8pm). We trail 1-0 from the first leg.

“It’s a decisive period for us, a key moment,” said Mauricio. “We don’t need to talk too much, now is the time to deliver our job and make it happen.

“The tough thing is we’re in circumstances that are not the best, but now is a time to be all together, not think too much, go there and try to make it happen, to achieve what we want. Try to forget all circumstances, be all together and give our best. How we’re going to prepare is so easy. It’s about being together and being strong.

“The most important thing is to be focussed. We know very well that we are playing for big things – Champions League semi-finals and to be in the top four of the Premier League, two big aims for us.

“I don’t think we need to think too much. We have to do our job in the best way. It’s a moment now where we can’t talk too much, it’s about delivering the job on the pitch. We know very well what we need to do is win these games and we are going to try.”
